Shelley Beckes, ASID, CID Shelley has a B.A. in Design from University of California at Berkeley. Shelley is a member of the American Society of Interior Designers and in 1995 she became a Certified Interior Designer in the State of California. She started her own design firm in 1984 and with an extensive background in traditional and contemporary interiors her work includes both residential and commercial Interior Design projects.
Shelley is recognized internationally for her work. Her residential projects have ranged from estates in Montecito, California and in California’s Wine Country to homes in Tokyo, Japan and Ottawa Canada. Her commercial work includes professional offices and recently she was a design consultant on a bank project in Tokyo, Japan.
Shelley’s work has been published in the Los Angeles Times Home Magazine, Angeles Magazine, San Francisco Magazine and Japanese House Beautiful. She was selected 4 times to participate in the prestigious Pasadena Showcase House of Interior Design. In 2007 Shelley was chosen as one of four Interior Designers in Los Angeles to design a chair for the world renowned icon of Country French style, Pierre Deux.
She is a skilled color specialist and has extensive resource and product knowledge that benefits her clients and enhances the creative outcome of all her Interior Design projects. Shelley is always aware of budgetary considerations and recommends that people take their time in purchasing. She believes that a room with a few beautiful things is far superior than a room full of compromises!
